Detailed itinerary

1

Huluganga Falls is a waterfall located at Huluganga Town, about 30 kilometers away from Kandy Town in on the way of Bambarella, in Kandy District in Sri Lanka. Hulu River is originating from the Knuckles Mountain Range. Huluganga Falls is about 75 meters in height.

2

Saree Ella is one of the numerous waterfalls in the valley of the river Huluganga, which marks the western edge of Knuckles Range, separating the latter from the Campbell's Lane Forest Reserve. The name "Saree" indeed refers to the traditional type of garment worn by the women in South Asia, as the form of the waterfall is wide at the bottom and has one single stripe further up.

3

The twin falls of Jodu Ella Falls are also known as Bambarella Knuckles Falls. They are formed by the Moragaha River, a tributary of the Huluganga River, which forms the valley at the western foot of Knuckles Range. Both horsetail falls are 45 m (159 feet) tall.

The immediate surroundings of the Jodu Falls is rich in medical herbs and reptiles and amphibians. A small path leads from the nearest car park to the foot of the waterfalls, which is an idyllic picnic spot, popular with locals, but less visited by foreign travelers.

4

Alakola Ella is located in the Central Province of Sri Lanka in a village named Madulkelle. The name Alakola Ella has been a derivation from its older name Allen Collen Watte Ella. Allen Collen was a planter during the British regime, and this surrounding waterfall area was under him and referred to as Allen Collen Watte. When the locals pronounce this name, there was a difference in the sound, and finally, it has become Alakola Watte. The Alakola Ella lies in this Alakola Watte (estate) in the Knuckles mountain range. Therefore it derived its name. Sometimes, it is also referred to as Thaliya Wetuna Ella. It is formed from a tributary of the Hulu Ganga originating in the Knuckles mountain range.
