A large, man-made reservoir situated in the North West Province of South Africa, nestled between the Magaliesberg Mountains. The dam was originally constructed in the early 20th century and completed in 1923, primarily to supply irrigation water to surrounding farms. Today, it is also a major recreational and tourism hub.
Sun City is a luxury resort and casino, situated in the North West Province of South Africa. It is located between the Elands River and the Pilanesberg, about two hours' drive from Johannesburg, near the city of Rustenburg. The complex borders the Pilanesberg Game Reserve.
Pilanesberg game reserve is in the Bojanala Region of the North West Province of South Africa, adjacent to Sun City. Pilanesberg National Park is the home of virtually every mammal of Southern Africa. Also home to the Big Five. Come and enjoy a day of Wildlife game viewing in specially adapted open 4x4 safari vehicles. Your guide will drive you through this nature reserve in search of the Big 5 (lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard). Not only will you search for these animals but also others that make the Pilanesburg their home, including Giraffe, Zebra, Hippo and various Antelope.
