Santa Teresa is certainly one of the most attractive neighborhoods in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Here history, music, architecture, modern art and street art come together in a melange that represents the essence of Carioca, always halfway between past and future.
The historic center is then the ideal continuation of this journey. The architectural testimonies of Rio "tropical Paris" alongside the skyscrapers and the very modern surface metro that runs through the heart of the city are images that tourists often do not expect and which inevitably fascinate them.
Through this walking tour of approximately 8 hours we guide you to discover this incredible mix of history, architecture, art and lifestyle. We are sure that it will be an unforgettable experience for you!
After reaching the city center by metro, we will go up to the typical Santa Teresa neighborhood with the historic tram. We will then take a nice walk in the "Montmartre of Rio de Janeiro" to get to know the main points of tourist, historical and artistic interest, without forgetting the possibility of a break for a drink in one of the typical bars in the neighborhood or to taste one of the best " Pão de quellejo" of the city
Descending from the Santa Teresa neighborhood we will then arrive in the center of Rio, knowing its main historical and architectural treasures. We will start from Piazza Cinelandia with some of the most beautiful buildings in the city, first of all the Municipal Theatre.
We will then get to know the famous Real Gabinete Portugues de Leitura, considered one of the most beautiful libraries in the world
In a typically "Belle Epoque" atmosphere we will be able to take a break to taste the many specialties of the wonderful Confeitaria Colombo
We will then head towards Guanabara Bay to discover the three main squares of the city centre. First of all the Praça
We will then continue in the direction of Praça Candelaria with its imposing church, the copy of the Olympic Pyre of Rio 2016 and the wonderful cultural center of the Banco do Brasil
We will then climb one of the hills that were historically fundamental in the creation of the city of Rio to get to know the Monastery of San Benedetto with the exceptional beauty of its church
Our tour will end at Praça Mauà with the external view of the famous Museum of Tomorrow designed by architect Calatrava.
