Stop 1 Pass by

Your English Speaking guide will pick you up at your hotel. They will take you to Taunggyi, the capital of Shan State, 1500 meters above sea level and visit the local market to observe the ways of life.
Then, they will take you to Kakku, where you will find over 2000 stupas at the Kakku Pagoda Complex, which were mostly built in the 16th century. Visit the pagodas with the magnificent collection of centuries old Buddhist stupas, where you will have the change to meet Pa-Oh people, the second largest ethnic group in Shan State. Afterwards, they will take you back to Inle, transfer to your hotel, and call it a day.

The pine covered hill station of Taunggyi provides a cool break from the heat of the plains. Due to its function as a trade town from Thailand, China, and India, it is one of the most prosperous and enterprising towns in Myanmar.

Kakku, located in the heart of Shan State, contains over 2000 pagodas, which were mostly built in the 16th century. Abandoned for centuries, it was rediscovered among bushes and trees. The tranquility of Kakku, alongside the lives of Pao people makes it an interesting excursion from Inle Lake.
