About this experience

This tour has been my best selling one for over 15 years. Customers finish the tour truly understanding the importance of the Renaissance and the Medici family. We cover topics that to many society's today are taboo but during the Renaissance were part of everyday life. I love sharing the ironic, strange & different daily routines of Renaissance Florence.

All tours are considered semi-private up to 11 people. If your party is composed of 12 people or more people it automatically becomes 100% private.

Stop 1

Begin the tour with skip the line tickets to see the most famous statue in the world. Learn how the statue and other paintings were interpreted by the general public when they were made over 500 years ago.

Stop 2

Visit the inner courtyard of the richest family in Florence, the Medici. Here we'll see how Roman, Greek & Renaissance architecture & art collide for one selfish reason......the Medici's ego!

Stop 3 Pass by

You'll understand why and how the largest Church & dome in the world were built here in Florence during the 1300s and 1400s.

Stop 4 Pass by

According to the Florentine Christians this is the most important building in Florence. Learn who was baptized here, why baptism was changed in the 1300s, the important shape of it as well as the very important Doors of Paradise.

Stop 5

See where the original David was placed by Michelangelo as well as many other statues added by the Medici family. The Palazzo Vecchio has been here since 1299 and continues to be a political building today (City Hall).......it's also an awesome museum.

Stop 6

Learn why this bridge has stood the test of tim from 1333 to today. We'll dive in WWII history and understand how Renaissance art, the Axis and the Allies Powers saved this bridge.
