Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1

Option 1:
For this option, you will visit the No. 1 mountain in west Sichuan-Mt. Qingcheng. So as the name "Mountain with Greens", the mountain is 98% covered by forests to be a natural oxygen bar. We will drive 1.5 hours from Chengdu downtown to Mt. Qingcheng and then walk about 1 hour to Yuecheng Lake. We will visit Jianfu temple on the way. The lake is right at the bottom of Summit Zhangren and it was formed by underground spring. The mist on the lake and the surrounds makes great picture in the morning. After that lake, we can catch the cable to the middle of mountain in 10 mins and then walk another 40 mins to the mountain top-Laojun Palace. You will have a bird eye of the whole Chengdu plain if the weather is good.
In the end, we will follow the same way back the parking lot.

2

Option 2:
In this option, you can visit the much less crowded panda base at Dujiangyan. There is a panda base in Chengdu downtown, however, it is also the most crowded panda base as it is the closed one from Chengdu city center. You normally need to wait hours no matter how early you leave from your hotel. There are always hundreds of Chinese tourists are earlier than you(someone reach the pandas at 6:30 am to wait for the opening at 7:30 am). On the other hand, Dujiangyan is cooler than Chengdu downtown as it is at a higher mountain. You know, pandas are more active in the cooler weather. So, you can see the more active pandas in Dujiangyan panda base but with much less crowds.

3

After we finish Mt. Qingcheng or Panda park. We will drive you to this shopping mall with a "Hogwarts School“ style bookstore. We can take very nice pictures inside and we can also have lunch there if you prefer western food. If you prefer Chinese food for lunch, we can surely recommend you nice local restaurants

4
Stop 4

In the afternoon, we will visit the other part of the UNESCO's nature and culture heritage- Dujiangyan irrigation system. It is the older man-made irrigation system which benefits Sichuan for nearly 2300 years and it is working now. Our guide will show you around the park and share you all the backgrounds such as how the irrigation system working, how it became a livelihood project from a military strategy, who the founder of this massive system is, what ancient Chinese intelligence and philosophy are, etc.
Once you enjoyed with the journey, we will escort you back your Chengdu hotel at around 18:00.
