About this experience

Zanzibar is a semi-autonomous archipelago, which is situated off the coast of Tanzania. It is made up of multiple islands including Pemba and Ungunja. Its capital is Zanzibar City, which is found on the main island of Ungunja. Stone Town is its historic center and has been classified as a World Heritage Site. The main industries of Zanzibar are raffia, tourism, and spices. The islands mostly produce nutmeg, black pepper, cloves, and cinnamon. Due to the products that the islands produce, all of them together with the Mafia Island of Zanzibar are in some cases referred to as the Spice Islands.
