About this experience

Hezhou is a small town in Guangxi Zhuang Ethinic Autonomous Region. In the old days, this remote area is difficult to enter. This is part of the reason why traditional Chinese culture can still be found. From Hong Kong, transfer to Shenzhen North Railway Station by private coach or shuttle bus. Then take bullet train to explore mysterious culture of Dong Ethic in Sanjiang.

What you'll see

Day 1 Hong Kong to Shenzhen (By Coach) to Hezhou (By Bullet Train)

Transfer to Shenzhen North Railway Station. Take 4-hour bullet train to Hezhou. You need to change a train at Guangzhou South Railway Station.

(1) Deluxe option: hotel pickup in Hong Kong and transfer by a private vehicle.  Economy option: Take a shuttle bus from Mong Kok, Tsim Sha Tsui, Causeway Bay, North Point, Sheung Wan or Wan Chai

(2) Hotel room with breakfast has been reserved in advance.  Tonight you will stay overnight in old town of Huangyao.

(3) Return bullet train ticket and shuttle bus ticket from Shenzhen North Railway Station has been reserved.

(4) No tour guide and transfer service will be arranged when you arrive in Hezhou.

Free time in Hezhou and Huangyao. Recommended activities are:

Huangyao is an antient town with nearly a thousand years of history, about 600 households, and eight narraw lanes. Houses are two layers of brick structure buildings, many of them are beautifully designed, with a high level of craftsmanship. The town was quiet and solitude at night, almost no tourists stay overnight here, and the residents go to bed early.

Many Chinese painters come here and stay for weeks. Some are professors and university students. In China, because of the fast-processing economy, it is more and more difficult to find a quiet town like this one.

Day 2 Gupo Mountain tour

Recommend you to hire a taxi to Gupo Mountain.

Gupo Mountain:  90-minute ride from Huangyao. Gupo Mountain rises 1,800m above ancient towering trees, flying waterfalls, fresh air, various birds and colorful flowers. It has been well known for its deep and serene gorges, cold and clean waters, major scenic areas. It covers an area of 80 square km. Gupo Mountain is known as a living nature museum and a green treasure house. With abundant plant species, it is home to over 1,500 species of plants and wild animals, some of them are under state protection.

Day 3 Huangyao to Hong Kong

Climb up the hill at 5am, get a panaramic view of the village, pavilions, temples, ancestral halls, old trees and rice paddies. Ask locals the sun will come out from which mountain before you set up your camera.

Later today you will take a taxi to train station for train to Shenzhen.  When you arrive at Shenzhen bullet train station, you will take shuttle bus to Hong Kong. Bus runs every half hour from 07:30 to 19:00. Please tell your preferred destination upon reservation: Mong Kok, Tsim Sha Tsui, Causeway Bay, North Point, Sheung Wan or Wan Chai. E-ticket will be sent to you in advance.
