We will head to Guindy National Park, a haven for wild life right in the middle of the chaos of Chennai! The park is home to blackbucks, jackals, deer, snakes, tortoises and butterflies. Guindy National Park plays crucial role in in-situ and ex-situ conservation of wild life.
Adjacent to Guindy National Park is the Snake Park. Here guests will get to meet 23 species of snakes, 7 species of crocodiles, 3 species of turtles and 6 species of large Indian lizards.
Chennai Crocodile park, set up by the renowned conservationist Romulus Whitaker, is an amazing experience. The park is home to more than 2500 reptiles including Jaws III its most famous resident and one of India’s largest salt water crocodiles. Guests get to see is the Snake Venom centre where you can observe a demonstration of venom extraction which is used for making anti-venom vaccines. Crocodile enrichment is the other highlight of this experience where these reptiles are made to exercise and play for their physical and mental well being
We visit Arignar Anna Zoological Gardens India’s first public Zoo located in Vandalur. Spread over 600 acres this Zoo is also the largest in India. There are more than 1500 wild species including 46 from the endangered list. Some of the highlights of this tour would be the butterfly house, walk through aviary, serpentarium, primate house and world of nocturnal animals.
