Pelicans sometimes rest in the mangrove trees as well after a long day of hunting fish.
As far as sea-life we’ll sometimes see a passing Dolphin or Manatee as we paddle the tour route. As our high powered custom lights illuminate the shallow seafloor and seagrass we’ll look for stone crabs and hermit crabs along with various conch shells. Sometimes we’ll catch glimpse of a stingray or small nurse sharks as they hunt for crustaceans. Mullet which is a vegetarian fish and runs in large schools are commonly seen along the mangrove shorelines as well. Some of the predatory fish we may run into our mangrove snappers, snook and the occasional Tarpon. One of the highlights of the tour is feeding the fish in the area which every one loves.
