Stop 5

The next stop will be Fujairah Fort, the oldest fort in the UAE. Built 20 meters above the sea level used for defensive purposes in repelling invaders during the period from 1500 to 1550 AD and rebuilt during the period from 1650 to 1700 AD. In the year 1925, the fort was abandoned after the naval bombings of the British. In 1997 the fort was renovated and re-opened to the public in the year 2010.

Khor Fakkan is a city on the Gulf of Oman, in the United Arab Emirates. Around Khor Fakkan Bay, home to a curving Khor Fakkan Seashore and a deep-ocean port. A promenade passes along the beachfront, against the background of the spectacular Hajar Mountains. Archaeological sites include the ancient tombs and a ruined Portuguese fort. West of town is Wadi Wurayah, a biologically diverse mountain area with a waterfall and natural swimming pools.

A wonderful 45m-high waterfall cascading down next to the amphitheater. Even Though the waterfall is man-made, it was sculpted out of natural rock and is often lit up at night. It has been constructed with viewing windows at the very top. From there, tourists will be able to watch the water flow down the stone. Both the amphitheater and waterfall stand in front of Khorfakkan’s shimmering bay, so the visitors may enjoy a wander along the beach before having a magnificent show.

Stop 9

Al Bidya Mosque, the mysterious origin and unusual architecture make the oldest surviving mosque in the United Arab Emirates a must-see attraction during the city tour. The mosque dates back to 1446 and located near the village of Al Bidya in the east coast region. The origin of the mosque is still a mystery to all, even to the local elders. Tourists can still visit the place of worship, which still functions with daily prayers.
