Former inhabitants of our island took sea salt from mines, for the production of dried fish, a dish traditionally Ecuadorian made at Easter. Thanks to its salt-rich soil we have the presence of two halophytic species (Salicornia fructirosa and Scaevolaplumieri). The sand you'll find here is coralline. An amazing beach for landscape photos, for its sleeping lion view, or the profile of a face on top of the hill, could perform panga ride if the conditions are right for the activity.

The Galápagos Islands are generally safe for travelers, with low crime rates and a welcoming local population. However, as with any destination, it is important to take precautions to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip. Petty crime, such as pickpocketing and bag snatching, can occur in crowded areas, so it is important to keep valuables secure and be aware of your surroundings. Additionally, the islands' remote location and limited medical facilities mean that travelers should take extra care to stay healthy and avoid injury.
