About this experience

The Sacred Valley of the Incas is a magical place that extends along the Vilcanota or Urubamba River. From the heights of the mountains, the Incas dominated this territory. We will visit the Inca town of Pisac, located on the heights of the colonial town of Pisac.
We will have time to shop at the Pisac artisan fair and the famous silversmiths. We will visit the Inkariy Museum, Viva Yucay Museum and the terraces of Moray and the Inca salt mines of Maras, as well as the Last Living Inca Town of Ollantaytambo. Day 1: Pisac Inca and Colonial Sacred Valley, Inkariy Museum and Yucay Living Culture Center

The Sacred Valley of the Incas welcomes us on this day. Our first stop will be the Inca town of Pisac, one of the most beautiful archaeological sites in the Sacred Valley. From the top of the mountain, the colonial town of Pisac is dominated. Walking tour of the colonial town. Time to shop in the craftsmen's workshops. Then, we will go to the Inkariy Museum to tour the various rooms where representations of the pre-Hispanic cultures of ancient Peru are exhibited. Lunch. We will visit the Centro de Cultura Viva de Yucay, a tourist complex where local people will show us their weaving and dyeing techniques for traditional textiles, manufacture of adobes, preparation of traditional chicha, corn drink, and have a close encounter with Andean camelids: llamas and alpacas. Day 2: Sacred Valley: Terrazas de Moray, Salineras de Maras and Living Inca Village of Ollantaytambo

This day will take us to meet wonderful sites that this region of the Sacred Valley of the Incas keeps. The Inca terraces of Moray, a laboratory that sought to recreate 20 different microclimates and ensure the agricultural production of the empire. We will continue to the town of Maras, where we will find the famous and ancient salt mines, which have been exploited since time immemorial. The contrast of its white wells with the clayey soil makes this landscape an unforgettable place to be photographed. Lunch. In the afternoon, we will enter the streets, squares and terraces of the last living Inca town of Ollantaytambo. We will enter the archaeological site that dominates the town, where you can see the technique with which the Incas work the stone in the temple of the Sun that was half built.

At the end of our tour, we suggest spending the night in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, to board your train to Machu Picchu the next day. Transfer to hotels in the Sacred Valley and Cusco is included.
