De Amicis, the italian writer, in his travel diary to Sicily in 1906, described this tour of Etna as “the most enchanting circular journey that can be made on the earth”. It was built in 1906 as means of transport for commuters living on the slopes of Etna. We will do an unusual journey, where we will admire the succession of enchanting landscapes of Etna, ancient lava rivers, extinct craters, lush valleys, olive groves, vineyards and prickly pears. We will stop in Bronte to taste pistacchio products and in Randazzo where we will have lunch based on local products.

The tour starts from Borgo station in Catania. Here we will get the train at 8. We will observe the old historical locomotive. During the journey we will crossy through villages, citrus and olive groves. Pistachio trees and prickly pear. Etna will be with us during this unique and unusual journey.
Arrival in Bronte around 9.30 am. At the station, we will visit the small littorina museum (the little Etna train). Here we will find ancient photographs and historical locomotives. We walk to one of the typical pastries of the area.
Stop in Randazzo for a light walking tour and lunch a in a small and typical small trattoria
Return to Catania by private transport.
