Detailed itinerary

Stop 1

In this tour we will visit 3 of the 5 PNPG gates, namely the Porta do Lindoso, Porta do Mezio and Porta de Lamas de Mouro. We will visit ancient villages, with a high patrimonial wealth and where their ancestral customs and culture, such as Lindoso, Soajo, Senhora da Peneda and Castro Laboreiro, are rooted.
From the top of its granite mountains, we will have impressive and spectacular views.
We will be able to marvel at the unique landscapes and views that the PNPG offers us, to see its fauna and flora.
In its water courses that run along its slopes, we will visit lagoons and waterfalls where, if the weather permits, we can bathe in the crystal clear and refreshing waters.
All of this accompanied with a lunch, where the gastronomy of local products will be present.

2

Lindoso, is a picturesque mountain village and one of the most emblematic in the National Park, a small village of farmers and shepherds, with a valuable built heritage, where the Medieval Castle, the Cruzeiro, the group of granaries and the community threshing floor stand out. . Along its narrow and labyrinthine streets, there are dwellings, with typical architecture of the region, mostly well preserved.

3

Soajo is one of the most typical and picturesque villages in the region. It is a small village, with views over the Lima River, well known for its grandiose nucleus of granaries (classified as Property of Public Interest), built on a gigantic granite slab. Here, on the Adião River, which flows along its slopes to the Lima River, if conditions allow, we will take a bath in its transparent and clean waters, in the various lagoons and waterfalls that exist along its course.
To replenish your energy, an excellent repast awaits us, with traditional and regional products.

4

On the way to Porta de Lamas of the PNPG we pass by the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora da Peneda, hidden at the bottom of a ravine, leaning against a large rock and a beautiful waterfall, it gives us a unique spectacle. On the way there, we will enjoy one of the best and most beautiful views of the park at the Vale da Peneda viewpoint.

5

Castro Laboreiro is a village, located at an altitude of 1,000 m, full of authenticity, beauty, customs and hospitable people. A wild jewel of Peneda do Gerês. In its mountains inhabited by the wolf, high on the plateau, the castle in ruins stands out, which we will visit and be dazzled by its wild, raw but charming landscapes.
