Your tour will take you to India's famous Taj Mahal in Agra. En-route to the Taj Mahal, you'll visit Fatehpur Sikri (own expense). After your visit at Fatehpur Sikri, you'll continue on your scenic drive to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal. A trip to Agra would not be complete without a visit to this shimmering vision of domes and minarets. After the Taj Mahal, you'll visit Agra Fort which was build by Emperor Akbar in 1565 A.D. You'll get to enjoy the beauty of this huge fort that is made of red sandstone.

Detailed itinerary

Your day will begin with a 6am pickup from anywhere in Jaipur and you'll enjoy a 4-hour scenic drive to Agra.

Around 9am En-route stop to visit Fatehpur Sikri (own expense), which has been described as “the world’s most perfectly preserved ghost town.” Built by Akbar in the late 16th century, it was abandoned after only 14 years, and the elegant buildings of this superb walled city remain intact to this day. By 10am You'll leave Fatehpur Sikri and continue on your drive to Agra which should take about 1 hour from Fatehpur Sikri.

Stop 3

After you reach Agra, you'll have a few minutes to freshen up upon arrival in Agra and will be advised by your professional tour guide to the meeting time and place to continue sightseeing as you travel to the Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A trip to Agra would not be complete without a visit to this shimmering vision of domes and minarets. The world's best-known tomb stands testimony to the timeless love story of the 17th century Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan and his wife, Queen Mumtaz Mahal. (The Taj Mahal is closed every Friday.)

After lunch you'll visit the imposing Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Built by Emperor Akbar in 1565 A.D, this huge fort is made of red sandstone. The maze of the courtyards, mosques and private chambers of the fort echo the story of the Mughal Empire.

After visiting Agra Fort, enjoy shopping tour of Agra to explore the local handicrafts centers of the city where we can look for Agra's major handicraft products besides marble inlay work, fine quality carpets, jewelry and embroidery, brassware, leather goods, etc.

After sightseeing in Agra, you'll be driven back to Jaipur and dropped off at your hotel, airport or anywhere in Jaipur city.
