The 2002 eruption was among the most impressive and devastating in recent years.
The route allows you to discover and study the many volcanic morphologies, related to the eruptions that followed one another on the northern slope of Etna. It will also be possible to visit the eruptions on the side of 10 September 1911 and 17 June 1923 which threatened the town of Linguaglossa.
You will climb along the pyroclastic cones of the 2002 eruption until you reach the maximum altitude of 2100 meters. Once on the 2100 meter Crater it will begin the descent into a sandy channel that will lead us back to the starting point of Piano Provenzana.
