Introduction to the tour and the history of the castle

The Amenano, a mysterious underground river that winds beneath the historic center of Catania, originally flowed on the surface feeding Lake Nicito. Over the centuries, eruptions, earthquakes and wars have modified not only the urban planning of the city, but also its natural appearance. We will visit a suggestive flowing cave inside which a branch of the river still flows

Vast spa complex, dating back to the 3rd-4th century AD.C., which extended into the area of Piazza Duomo. The thermal baths had several rooms DA, but the only portion left accessible is located just below the cathedral
