The most important structure of Aspendos is the theatre. It is an open-air theater that has been preserved in the best way among the ancient theaters. This theater is the oldest and most robust example of the Roman Theaters in Anatolia that has survived to the present day with its stage. Its architect is Zenon, son of Theodorus of Aspendos. It was built during the reign of Antonius Piu (138-164). The theater was presented to the local gods of the city and the emperor family.

Side, a peninsula in Antalya's Manavgat district, dates back to BC. It is estimated that it was founded before the 7th century. Side means "Pomegranate", the sacred fruit of the ancient Anatolian goddesses, and is also used as the emblem of the city of Side. Looking at the inscriptions in hand, BC. The language of "Sidece", which was a city-specific language until the 3rd century, is mentioned. Although Sidece is accepted as a language of Luwian origin used by the Luwians, who are the indigenous people of Anatolia, in various sources, this language, which is still not fully deciphered, is considered to be an Indo-European language. Hittites, Lydians, Persians, Romans, Byzantines and Ottomans ruled this port city, respectively.
