About this experience

Enjoy an amazing truffle hunting with a professional "Trifolao" and his trained dog near Monforte d' Alba. Breathe pure air in a gorgeous wood and enjoy the intense truffle scent. Meet the hunter and his dogs, who are specially trained to sniff out truffles, you’ll have a good chance of tracking down the elusive fungi. Along the way, learn more about truffles and why they are so rare, and pick up expert tips on how to find them. The experience ends with a wine tasting paired with cheese with black truffle, scratched on top.

Detailed itinerary

All tours begin in Monforte d'Alba, where you'll meet your guide. You'll need your own transportation to follow the guide on a 10-minute drive to the forest area and later to the Enoteca. (A transfer service from Monforte is available upon request for an additional fee, with limited spots.) The experience starts with an introduction to truffles, covering their types, growth, and where they can be found. Upon reaching the forest, you'll meet the truffle hunter and his specially trained dogs before starting the hunt. Please note that any truffles found during the hunt are not included in the price. The walk takes place in a wooded area, so comfortable, outdoor-appropriate clothing is recommended, especially during the colder months. If needed, rubber boots will be provided.
