One of the most beautiful villages in France. It is the most colorful in Provence thanks to the pigment of ocher. Here we have ocher quarries where the pigment was extracted during the 18th century. Currently this village offers us a unique spectacle with this contrast of red and orange and the surrounding forests. All the houses in the village are painted with this pigment. The ocher quarries are open to visitors.
These quarries exported during the 18th century are open to the public. You can visit them if you wish. The quarries may be closed in the event of rain and stormy incidents. Sometimes the management closes the quarries exceptionally (find out the calendar before the visit).
Advice for visiting the ocher trails: avoid white shoes (they risk turning orange).
