Step off the River Walk and discover the real San Antonio — one mural at a time.
Led by local guides, the Mural Walk Experience takes you through the city’s most colorful neighborhoods to explore vibrant art, history, and community stories that most visitors miss.
We’ll start inside Pulp Coffee Roasters with a complimentary espresso or cold brew tasting, learning the difference between commodity and specialty coffee before heading out energized.
Along the way, you’ll see murals from the San Antonio Street Art Initiative, visit Gravelmouth Gallery, and experience the newest large-scale art project at Healy-Murphy Park.
This is more than a walk — it’s an immersive look at San Antonio’s creative heartbeat, told by the locals who live it. Bring your curiosity, your camera, and your comfortable shoes — we’ll handle the caffeine and the culture.
Start your Mural Walk inside Pulp Coffee Roasters, one of San Antonio’s most respected specialty coffee shops. Guests will have the option to enjoy a cold brew or espresso drink while learning what sets Pulp apart from traditional “commodity coffee.” Their baristas give a quick, approachable explanation of how sourcing, roasting, and brewing impact flavor — a perfect intro to the artistry that fuels both coffee and murals in this city. We begin here to get caffeinated, inspired, and ready to explore the nearby streets on foot. Surrounded by the aroma of freshly roasted beans, you’ll feel the creative energy of San Antonio before the first mural even appears.
Our walk includes a stop at Gravelmouth Gallery, the headquarters of the San Antonio Street Art Initiative (SASAI) — the driving force behind much of the city’s modern mural movement. This creative hub serves both as a professional gallery and a community space where local and international street artists showcase their work. Inside, you’ll often find rotating exhibits, bold installations, and glimpses of upcoming public art projects. Gravelmouth isn’t just a gallery; it’s where artists, curators, and community members collaborate to bring color and culture to San Antonio’s walls. It stands as a bridge between fine art and street art — a place where creativity, conversation, and community all meet.
The final stop on our Mural Walk takes you to Healy-Murphy Park, home to the newest street art project by the San Antonio Street Art Initiative (SASAI) as of 2025. Once an overlooked and nearly abandoned park on the city’s East Side, it has been completely transformed through art and community collaboration. The project features 10 vibrant murals, a painted basketball court, and a mosaic breakdancing pad, all designed to celebrate creativity and movement. Each element tells a story of resilience, unity, and local pride while giving new life to this historic neighborhood. What was once forgotten is now a lively gathering space for residents, artists, and visitors — a symbol of how public art can truly revitalize a community.
All guests will meet inside Pulp Coffee Roasters unless otherwise communicated by your guide. Please arrive 10–15 minutes early. We’ll start with a quick introduction over coffee, then head out on foot to explore the vibrant murals and stories that make San Antonio’s streets come alive.
