About this experience

Departure from Avola, heading south on board our 8 meter dinghy with the experienced skipper who will be your guide. there are many baths in the coves and coves most characteristic of the coast up to the Isola delle Correnti where the Sea of Sicily and the Ionian Sea meet. we will have the opportunity to see up close some old traps now in disuse, we will observe closely the islands of Vendicari and Capopassero we will approach the Vendicari Nature Reserve and the beach of Calamosche; we will have the opportunity to take many photos and swim safely in crystal clear waters.
we will snorkel at the 4 Roman columns of Marzamemi at about 5 meters depth, experience for everyone with fins, masks and snorkel provided by Sicily Boats.
there will be a stop for our aperitif with Sicilian sparkling wine, arancini, scones, fresh fruit, beer and soft drinks.
we will observe the Tafuri Castle from the water and stop in Marzamemi, about 30 minutes to visit the village and take a souvenir.

Detailed itinerary

Departure from Avola Southbound. First stop at the White Rocks of Lido di Noto for photos and possible first bath

continue in the Vendicari Nature Reserve with crossing the magnificent areas of Eloro and Marianelli, and then stop for a swim in front of the beach of Calamosche

the tour continues in the heart of the reserve to admire the beautiful remains of the Vendicari tuna trap with, immediately after, a stop at the white beach behind the island of Vendicari.

You can then observe from the dinghy the 4 Roman columns dating back to the second century D.C, which are located about 5 meters deep near Marzamemi. Sicily Boats provides all participants with snorkeling equipment, i.e. fins, masks and snorkel.

The navigation will continue to the island of Capopassero where you can admire the Spanish fortress and where we will try to enter the cave of the octopus.

Sailing again, we will leave the Gulf of Noto and reach the southernmost point of Sicily, the island of the currents. We will take advantage of this stop to enjoy our aperitif by toasting with Sicilian sparkling wine and eating arancini, scones, fresh fruit, beer and soft drinks.

On the way back, we will head to the enchanting Tafuri Castle, opposite the island of Capopassero, for some beautiful photographs and, above all, for a swim in the crystal clear Caribbean waters.

We will then move to Marzamemi for a stop on land of about 30 minutes to visit the ancient village of sailors and, at your leisure, taste one of the many culinary specialties of the place.

Depending on the marine weather conditions, we will decide whether to make the last stop over the source of volcanic origin of Calabernardo or in front of the beach of Cicirata, just before returning to port.
