Detailed itinerary

1

Departure from the small port of Marzamemi, heading north: in a few minutes we will reach a truly unique place, where history merges with the sea. We will stop to admire four Roman columns dating back to the 2nd century AD, lying on the sandy seabed at a depth of about 5 meters. An unmissable opportunity to snorkel above these ancient submerged testimonies of Sicilian history.
Sicily Boats provides all participants with the necessary equipment free of charge: fins, mask and snorkel, to fully enjoy the experience in safety and comfort.

2

We will then continue along the coast towards the south-east to reach the Isola delle Correnti, the southernmost point of Sicily, where the Ionian Sea and the Sea of Sicily ideally meet. Here, if conditions allow, we will make a stop for snorkeling above the submerged remains of a military wreck, visible a few meters deep: a light but exciting dive into the historical memory of the Mediterranean.

3

After this experience, we will turn west to reach Punta delle Formiche, one of the lesser-known and most spectacular gems of the coast. In this stretch we will find a sequence of wild coves, islets and small caves that represent a true paradise for lovers of the sea and snorkeling. Here there will be time to relax, explore and swim in transparent and pristine waters.

4

We will then resume navigation to return east and make a new stop near the Island of Capo Passero, dominated by the historic Fortezza Carlo V. If the sea conditions allow it, we will try to enter one of the suggestive Grotte del Polipo, natural cavities particularly loved for their light and shape.

5

We will continue with a scenic passage in front of the Tafuri Castle, one of the most iconic noble residences in the area, directly overlooking the sea. In this magnificent setting, our exclusive Sicily Boats aperitif will be served on board: Sicilian arancini, stuffed focaccia, fresh fruit, soft drinks, beer and local sparkling wine for a toast with a view.
