Detailed itinerary

In the morning, the guide will pick you up at your hotel to start the tour. We will begin by touring the southern coast of the island, making our first stop at Vaihu to visit an Interpretive Rapa Nui Village where you will see houses, ovens, and chicken coops that were typical constructions for each family in ancient times

We will then continue to Ahu Akahanga, where you can see a platform with 12 moais and a typical un-restored Rapanui village with remains of houses, ancient ovens, and a small cave.

Stop 3

Next, we will head east to visit Ahu Tongariki, one of the most famous platforms on the island, known for its 15 restored moais.

Stop 4

Continuing the journey, we will stop at the Rano Raraku volcano, where we will walk for about 1 hour to see more than 400 moais left at various stages of carving. Here, you will learn about the carving and transportation of the statues and feel the energy that the place still holds.

Stop 5

To end this day full of visits, we will finish at the paradisiacal “Anakena” beach, with white coral sands and turquoise waters. The beach also has Ahu NauNau and Ahu Ature Huki, which were the sites of great discoveries.

On the way back to the town, you will see volcanoes and vegetation that are part of the island’s landscape.
