Amalfi is a city in a suggestive natural environment under the steep cliffs on the south-western coast of Italy. Between the IX and XI centuries, it was the seat of a powerful maritime republic. In the heart of the city, the Cathedral of Sant'Andrea, of the Arab-Norman era, is characterized by a Byzantine striped façade. The Arsenale Museum of Amalfi is a medieval construction site now an exhibition space. This location can be selected to be visited along with another on this tour.

Positano is a town on the Amalfi coast, in southern Italy. It is a very popular tourist destination with pebble beaches and narrow, steep streets full of shops and cafes. The Church of Santa Maria Assunta has a majolica dome and a Byzantine icon of the 13th century Virgin Mary. The Sentiero degli Dei hiking trail connects Positano to the other coastal towns.
