Detailed itinerary

1

Kalutara, nestled along the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, boasts pristine beaches, historic sites, and lush landscapes. 2

Madu River in Sri Lanka is a serene water body renowned for its scenic beauty and biodiversity. Located in the southwestern region, it offers boat rides through mangrove forests, showcasing rich avian life and diverse flora. The river is a vital source of livelihood for local communities engaged in fishing and traditional activities. Visitors can experience the tranquility of the surroundings while exploring the river's intricate network of channels and islets.

3

Meetiyagoda, located in southern Sri Lanka, is renowned for its unique moonstone mines. These shimmering semi-precious stones, known for their iridescent sheen, are mined here amidst lush greenery. Visitors can witness the traditional methods of extraction and purchase exquisite moonstone jewelry, making it a gem enthusiast's paradise. Hear more about the difficulties faced by the miners. Grab the opportunity to purchase some marvellous pieces; though you will need to haggle to get a reasonable price. This tour shows you the traditions of one of the oldest trades in Sri Lankan history - gem mining.

4

The beach of Hikkaduwa has situated 98 km from Colombo towards the south of Sri Lanka. This fun coastal town, 14 km away from Galle was the first (the 1960s) of Sri Lanka’s beautiful beaches to be discovered by tourists. Snorkeling and diving in the clear waters are a major past-time along this stretch and is the most environmentally friendly way to see the colorful fish that dart around.
With plenty of beachfront accommodation and a reputation as the second best surf spot in Sri Lanka, the reason why so many visit Hikkaduwa is blatantly clear. The resort area has now engulfed two or three villages south of it and is now a 4km strip of hotels, shops, bars, restaurants, and guesthouses. The beaches are lovely and wide and swimming is safe here, though the currents are stronger when it comes to the south of Hikkaduwa

5

The Sea Turtle Hatchery Centre in Mahamodara, Sri Lanka, is a vital sanctuary dedicated to the conservation of endangered sea turtles. Nestled along the picturesque coast, it serves as a haven for these magnificent creatures, protecting their eggs and nurturing hatchlings until they are ready for release into the ocean. Through education and outreach programs, the center raises awareness about the importance of sea turtle preservation, offering visitors a unique opportunity to witness these ancient marine beings up close.

6

Discover the city of Galle, where the Portuguese and Dutch made their headquarters, and its secrets. Visit the Galle Fort which is one of the best preserved fortifications in Asia.
