Thanh Chuong Viet Palace is one of the four most important and MUST SEE cultural destinations in Hanoi, including Ho chi Minh Mausoleum; Van Mieu Literature Temple; Vietnam Arts Museum; and Thanh Chuong Viet Palace. The Palace was formed and created by A well-known Painter named Thanh Chuong ( born in 1949), a master of contemporary Vietnamese painting. Thanh Chuong is a Vietnamese prodigy, who started his career at the age of seven. Over half a century of creativity and artistic dedication, he has produced enormous amounts of artwork, from sketches to sculptures, paintings, oil paints, lacquers, especially lacquer painting, etc. From the beginning of the renowned period of the country – 1986, he became one of the most popular painters, for his paintings were a unique blend of Vietnamese art and contemporary world language. This became a strong characteristic feature in his paintings, which he called contemporary folk style. He was a pioneering painter who influenced the younger generations of painters as he always insisted, emphasizing the importance of preserving national identity in creation. His works are available in many European, Asian and American countries.
In 2001, his name continued to shine, when he was the first artist in the country to have a work of love selected by the United Nations as the international issue stamps (On the occasion of International Year of Volunteers), which named a Vietnamese artist on the list of world artists in the stamp collection of the United Nations.
His artistic creativity reached new heights when he completed the cultural project named Viet Phu Thanh Chuong (or Thanh Chuong Viet Palace), a combination, a unique "living" museum of art, unique in scale, cultural value theme to protect the origin and honor the national culture, world-class. With this work, he is not only a painter, artist but also an outstanding artist, especially in the history of Vietnamese art.
