Rupit es un de los pueblos mas bonitos del mundo. Ha sido elegido por la Organización Mundial del Turismo como el mejor pueblo del mundo (el año 2023). El camino desde Barcelona en coche dura aproximadamente 1h30. Es un pueblo de origen medieval que aún conserva el apsecto encantador de sus casas de piedra de los siglos XVI-XVII. En Rupit hay una cascada El Salt de Sallent de altura 82 metros , es una especie de versión catalana del Gran Cañón.El aspecto arquitectónico de la ciudad se ha conservado desde sus inicios, los siglos XVI y XVII. Según las leyes locales, aquí están prohibidos los edificios modernos que no correspondan al estilo arquitectónico de esa época. Aquí hay varias atracciones principales, una de ellas es el puente peatonal colgante que conecta las partes moderna y antigua de la ciudad. Caminando sobre el acantilado a lo largo del puente, se encontrará en el centro histórico, que consta de solo tres calles.
La calle más antigua, la calle del Fossar, está pavimentada con lava procedente de rocas volcánicas procedentes de las erupciones de volcanes previamente activos situados a 30 km de Rupit.
