Detailed itinerary

1

Xinwei Forest Park is about 200 meters above sea level. The whole area is full of greenery in spring and summer. There is also a mahogany avenue of about 2 kilometers in the park. In late winter and early spring, the green leaves of the mahogany will turn red and yellow. The rows of trees extend into a natural corridor with an exotic atmosphere. It often attracts many couples to come for a walk. It is a very popular wedding photography spot.

2

Located in the western section of the Nanheng Highway, the Hui Valley is almost 2,500 meters above sea level. It is often surrounded by clouds and mist in the afternoon, so it is called the Misty Forest.

3

The "Yakou" is 2,722 meters above sea level. The Nanheng "Yakou" is the watershed between Kaohsiung and Taitung. It is the place where the terrain and air currents meet, and it is the best place to watch the sunrise and sea of clouds. Whether it is mountain mists, cloud waterfalls, azure skies or a sea of clouds in various shapes and sizes, they often present breathtaking and magnificent scenes when you turn around a steep mountain road or emerge from a dark tunnel to see the sun again.

4

Tianchi is located at the 135 km mark of Provincial Highway 20, which is the junction of the east and west sections of the Southern Cross-Island Highway in Kaohsiung County. Changqing Temple was built to commemorate the veterans and engineers who died while building the highway. Walking along the trail on the left side of the temple, you will arrive at Tianchi Lake, which is about 2,200 meters above sea level. Tianchi Lake is a high mountain lake. The water never dries up and is clear and green. Looking down from the grassy slope of arrow bamboo, it is like a mirror, reflecting the lush mountain scenery into the lake.

5

The Shanlai Aiyu Pavilion is the gateway to the famous scenic spots of Nanheng Highway. Since the opening of Nanheng Highway, tourists have flocked to it. Shanlai Aiyu Pavilion is not only a rest stop on the Nanheng Highway, but also a place for Taoyuan District to showcase the charm of its aboriginal culture and local agricultural products to the outside world.
