Detailed itinerary

1

Like the Valley of the Moon, Vallecito (Little Valley) is in the Cordillera De Sel; for that we call it so, as if it were a second Valley of the Moon. Yet it is a place with few visits, but of equal beauty that allows us a more intimate experience with this particular relief at the edge of the driest desert in the world.

A wind-cut topography and little rain for millions of years in such a dry environment allows us to see very soluble sediment layers like clay, sand, conglomerates and different types of salt creating a landscape unique and fascinating; reddish and muddy tones interspersed with white layers are illuminated by the intense sun of the Atacama Desert creating a unique landscape that would appear alien to this planet, but at the same time framed by the imposing Andean Cordillera; the spine of all America
