The visit of this majestic waterfall is an absolute must do in French Polynesia. One of the highest waterfalls of the area, making around 300 feet, the Faarumai waterfall is an impressive nature wander. The fall is situated in the easy 5 -minutes walking distance from the car.
The whole place around, surrounded by the lush tropical vegetation, is a wander, which will charge you with the mana (energy in Tahitian) when you will be enchanted with its beauty.
To complete the magical impression about the spot, you guide will tell you the famous Tahitian legend about two lovers, who hided themselves behind the wall from this world long time ago, and, according the legend, are still living inside of the rock.

The Belvédère du Tahara'a scenic viewpoint is in the hills above the municipality of Arue. It offers superb panoramic views over the island of Moorea and the bay of Matavai where the first European settlers disembarked. This is an important historical point, because here happened the first meeting between the Maohi culture and western civilization.

We will visit the site with the mausoleum of one of Tahiti's kings, Pomare V, which was built out of coral stone and shaped like a small lighthouse, with a red door and a red Greek-style urn on top. Originally the tomb was built for the Queen Pomare IV, but her son sent people to excavate her remains. Just a few years later, Pomare V died of alchoolism and his remains were buried in the palace.
The mausoleum faces the sea, and you can enjoy the beautiful sea view of Tahitian coast.
