HopOn India welcomes you on a tour of Daulatabad Fort, the famous fortress of the Deccan that was believed to be impregnable. Till the 14th century it was known as Deogiri Fort, after the ancient volcanic hill from which it was cut out. Several dynasties made this fortress their stronghold, from the Yadavas of the 13th century, right up to Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in the 17th century, and finally the Nizams of Hyderabad until Independence. The fort is 16 kilometers from Aurangabad.
