The Golden temple is the most venerated religious site for the fifth largest population of the world “Sikhism” This temple is called golden temple because of the gold plating done by the Sikh Maharaja Ranjeet Singh. This temple is located in Amritsar district of Punjab.
Day 1- You will be received by us at your hotel in Delhi in the morning at 6am and your designated train Swarna Shatabadi Express leaves at 07:20 am for Amritsar. Upon your arrival at Amritsar railway station 1345Hrs. we will receive you and assist you. Later you will be driven in a private luxury car towards Wagah Border (Indo-Pak Border) to be a spectator to the eye catching flag towering ceremony which starts at the sunset. At this point the gates of both countries are closed and the Indian border security forces take part in the mach past.
Later you return back to your hotel after an hour drive and you check into the pre booked hotel. If you do not feel tired you can stroll though the busy bazaars. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2- Today in the early morning at 5 am if you like you can be a part of the ceremony of the procession which starts from Akal Takht (The temporal seat) and goes up to the Harminder Sahib (Golden Temple) According to the Sikh belief Guru Grantha Sahib is considered as a living Guru and thus this living embodiment everyday mutual is done, every late night nearly the loving Guru goes for resting abode (Akal Takht) and in the morning comes for religious sermons at the golden temple.
The Golden temple is situated in the midst of a large sarovar (tank). Unlike other Hindu temple where sanctum sanctorum is situated on a high pedestal, the golden temple is at a lover elevation with respect to four gates in all four directions. This temple was built by the fourth master (Guru) Sikhism Guru Ramdas Ji in 16th century. Another special tradition of the golden temple is the community kitchen (Langar) which provide free of cost food to all the devotees irrespective of caste and creed. Here vegetarian food comprising of dal, chapatti and rice is the served round the clock by the volunteers. You will be amazed to see the level of service and can be a part of it.
After the visit of the holy shrive you return back to your hotel and after breakfast proceed to visit the ferrous jalian Wala Bagh which is located very near to the golden. This place is infamous and came into the limelight. For the carnage carried out by the British officer general O Dyre when he ordered open fire on a peaceful assembly of Indian protesters which resulted in the loss of more than 1500 civilian lives. Still you can see the bullet marks and other sigris of the coverage after your tour if the time permits you can visit the Durgiana temple and later you will be transferred to the railway station at 1625Hrs to catch your Swarana Shatabadi board to Delhi. The train leaves Amritsar at 1650Hrs and reaches Delhi at 2305Hrs. we receive you at the station and assist you. Our driver will drop you at the hotel.
