Stop 1

In the morning post breakfast, your tour will start with the visit of gigantic Mehrangarh Fort which is based on a 160 m high hill range and was founded by Rao Jodha in 1459 and the subsequent rulers of Jodhpur also added to the architectural development of this fort over the centuries. You will be taken by your tour guide through the maizy pass way visualizing the battle scars of canon ball hit by attacking armies of Jaipur and the amazing view of the city based downhill will certainly mesmerize you. There are seven gates encircling this fort among which most famous is Jayapol which signifies victory and was built by Maharaja Man Singh to commemorate his victories over Jaipur and Bikaner armies. Inside the fort you visit the famous museum, which possess unique artifacts, weaponry, coins, paintings etc. Noteworthy is a figure known as Chuski which was designed to provide the opium and alcoholic flavors to the Maharaja in a lady form. Besides this at certain places you get to see the palm imprints which are known as Sati hands. The royal ladies after the subjugation of the fort and the demise of the Maharaja used to go on self immolation on the pyre and thus save the self respect and these before this process used to leave the palm imprints.

Stop 2

After visit of the fort is over you will be taken for the sightseeing of Jaswant Thada: This is based down the fort. There is a beautiful marble cenotaph of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II and some other royal family members were cremated at this place. The son of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, Sardar Singh built this magnificent monument which has the epithet as the Taj Mahal of Marwar. The principal memorial has been built like a temple and houses the pictures of different Maharajas. The sightseeing these two monuments will leave you hungry thus you can have lunch in some local India restaurant.

Post lunch you proceed the Mandore Garden which was the former capital of Maharajas of Marwar and is at stone’s throw distance from the city and was later deserted for the security of Mehrangarh fort. At this place you find the cenotaphs of Jodhpur's former rulers. These cenotaphs are set in beautiful landscaped gardens. Close to the hall of heroes which was dedicated to various deities and fabled Rajput folk heroes. The beautiful statues are carved out of rock and are painted in bright colours. In the evening you will visit the major attraction of the Sun City - Clock Tower and Sardar Market. Strolling through the narrow alleys and viewing colourful bazaars full of textiles, antiques, silverware and handicrafts etc would be a different experience for you. After finishing your tour, our driver will drop you at your hotel in Jodhpur.
