Stop 1

Soon after we depart from Tbilisi, we will visit breathtaking Jvari Church.

Brief information about Jvari monastery:

Soon after accepting Christianity in Georgia, construction of Jvari Monastery started, which was in 4th century, during 30s years.

The main big church was built in 11th century.

From Jvari Monastery you will be able to enjoy magical panorama; Wave-like mountains, panorama of city of Mtskheta and a place where two rivers unite (Aragvi and Kura (Mtkvari)).

Then we will arrive in Borjomi Central Park, a place where you can drink natural mineral water - Borjomi - or walk in the park and take cable car to enjoy breathtaking view over city of Borjomi.

Brief information about Borjomi:

Borjomi is located 800-900 meters above sea level.

In Borjomi National Park you can try real natural water -Borjomi. After, we will walk through stunning Borjomi National Park, where you will see diversity of nature, as well as waterfall. Then, you will be able to ascend by Cable car on the plateau, on a lake located above Borjomi, have a look at stunning views on Borjomi from the top

Afterwards, we arrive in city of Gori, which is the birth-place of Joseph Stalin, and visit Stalin house-museum.

Brief information about city of Gori:

Gori is located on the confluence of the Kura and the Liakhi in the picturesque Kartlia valley. From the south and the west the city is surrounded by scenic mountains. Even though the city was first mentioned in the 6th century, the city is best known as the birthplace of Joseph Dzhugashvili better known as Joseph Stalin who ruled the Soviet Empire from 1925 to 1953

After city of Gori, we travel to Uplistsikhe Cave Town

Brief information about Uplistsikhe:

Located in Eastern Georgia, Uplistsikhe (translated as “Lord’s Fortress“) is an abandoned rock-hewn town, which once have played an important role in Georgian history. The place was founded in the late Bronze Age, around 1000 BC, and continued to be inhabited until 13th century AD. Between the 6th century BC and the 11st century AD, Uplistsikhe was one of the most important political and religious centers of pre-Christian Kartli – one of the predecessors of the Georgian state. At its peak it housed 20,000 people. What you visit today is the 40,000-sq-metre Shida Qalaqi (Inner City), less than half of the original whole. Almost everything here has been uncovered by archaeologists since 1957.

Then we travel back to city of Mtskheta, which is an old capital of Georgia, and visit historical Svetitskhoveli Cathedral.
