Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1

We will begin the tour leaving from San Pedro de Atacama towards the Salt Mountain Range in the Atacama Desert, the driest place on earth, heading to one of its most picturesque points: the Valley of the Moon. The names already give a clear clue to the landscape, where rock formations shaped by erosion, salt layers, the Greater Dune and views that will make you feel like you are on another planet reign.

We will cross the valley transversally, visiting its famous rock formations: the Tres Marías, the Canyon and the Amphitheater. To finish the tour, we will enjoy the sunset from the Licarantay viewpoint, where you can see how the desert changes color, with large volcanoes on the horizon, offering a spectacle that will leave you speechless.

2

We will pick you up to travel a few km from San Pedro de Atacama, to the place where you will carry out the activity. There you will have this Astrophotographic Tour, in a space with very little light pollution, special for observing the night sky. The tour, which is separated into three stages, will have a talk about the Andean worldview. In the same way, there will be a moment of telescope observation, with which you will be able to see planets and some details of them that are not visible to the naked eye. Finally, you will have a photo session with the starry sky in the background so that you can take home a souvenir of this experience.

3

We will begin the tour leaving San Pedro de Atacama towards the southeast. We will travel for an hour in which we will be able to see the variation of colors of the desert landscape. We will arrive at the entrance to the hidden lagoons of Baltinache, where we can use the bathrooms before continuing the tour. We will follow the path that will take us through the seven lagoons that make up this wonderful landscape, of which only the last one can be used for swimming. Due to the amount of salt they contain, you will be able to experience the floating effect similar to that of the Dead Sea. After having seen this attraction in the middle of the Atacama Desert, we will begin our return, passing through the entrance facilities to use the bathrooms. On the way back, we will watch the sunset over the desert before arriving in the center of San Pedro de Atacama.

Stop 4

On the tour to the Tatio Geysers we will leave at dawn from San Pedro de Atacama towards the Altiplano, climbing the hills and mountains of the Andes Mountains. After 1 hour and a half of travel, we will arrive at the Geysers, a natural spectacle unique in the world, with 80 smoking geysers at 4,200 m altitude. Next to this natural setting, we will enjoy a restorative breakfast, and then tour the geothermal field, surrounded by numerous columns of steam. On the way back to San Pedro de Atacama, we will make a stop at the Putana River, where we will observe the native flora and fauna of the place.
