Early morning move to Alexandria by one of our air-conditioned coaches. The distance is 225 km. It takes about three hours.Upon arrival, we start our tour visiting the Cornish area, were we have a look on Mediterranean Sea. Then continue driving to the Greco-Roman area to visit Catacomb tombs of Kom el-Shuqafa. The funerary construction dates from the 2nd century and discovered in 1990. Then continue visit to Pompey's pillar, which is related to the roman period. Continue the tour visiting Qaitbey Fort, which was built by Sultan Quitbey in the 15th century. The structures have recently been restored. Then drive to visit the library of Alexandria. The last site we visit is the Montaza palace, where king Farouk was lived in before leaving Egypt as the last ruler of Mohamed Ali family. The palace was built by Khedvie Abbas in 1892. It is located on the seashore and surrounded by 350 acres of beautiful parks and gardens.In the evening drive back to Cairo.
