About this experience

The excursion to Etna at sunset is one of the most suggestive summer tours, as it allows you to visit, on board our 4×4, some of the most interesting places of Etna until sunset. You will admire the Valle del Bove, an immense amphitheater that tells the geological history of the volcano. You will walk on the edge of some side craters where you can admire the 2000 meters DA panorama and the extinct lava flows of various eras. Finally, you will admire the colors of the Etna sunset while enjoying a sweet aperitif with biscuits and raisin wine.
IMPORTANT NOTES: our meeting point in Trecastagni a MontataGrande where you will find a free and safe parking.
You can request a Catania or other countries DA shuttle service.

Detailed itinerary

Stop 1

The tour winds through the visit of different attractions (at least 4): the ancient and recent lava flows; the Valle del Bove; the visit of a volcanic cave with lights and helmets; walk on the side craters at about 2000 meters.

Panoramic stop in the spectacular Valle del Bove, a natural amphitheater created by the collapse of the ancient eruptive centers of Etna. This stage may not be carried out starting from Taormina. Alternatively, you can reach the ski resort of Piano Provenzana destroyed by the 2002 eruption.

Visit this or a similar cave with lights and speleologist helmet to understand the fascinating phenomenon of the formation of lava tubes. The guides will assist you in this fascinating natural place to descend into the meanders of the volcano.
