After a short flight from Cairo, stop in the city of Luxor is a special visit to the breathtaking Karnak Temple, the largest temple complex built by the man covering approximately 200 acres with individual temples built for various gods. It is a massive and spectacular complex of columns, statues, halls, and courts which tell a story of its former grandeur and splendor.

Then tour the impressive Luxor Temple dedicated to Amun, two Pharaohs contributed to building this temple, they were Amenophis III and Ramses II. Magnificent in its own right, the temple features enormous gateways, shrines, and sanctuaries.

The temple was constructed out of limestone rock for the famous female Pharaoh Hatshepsut. Then visit the Colossi of Memnon, which are two huge statues around 17m high that once guarded the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III. The temple has been completely destroyed and all that is left are these two massive statues made from blocks of quartzite which feature Amenhotep III seated on his throne facing the Nile and the rising sun.
