Capri island & the Blue Grotto full day excursion are an absolute must when visiting the Amalfi coast. Booking is essential for this highly popular outing. The experience of a slow cruise to the island, along with the breathtaking, up-close view of the coves and geographic features, provides a unique perspective of this truly exquisite feature of the Italian coastline.
Your time on the island will be well spent. You will be spoiled for choice with famous historical features to visit or the indulgence of shopping at the exclusive Italian brand boutiques you find off the square.
If you choose to move across to Anacapri, you will enjoy a quieter time on this busy island. Or just find yourself a good spot at one of the many beaches spotted around the island, close to one of the many restaurants so that you can take a dip after lunch.
A final dip in the Med is an added bonus on your slow cruise back to Positano. With time to enjoy a sun-downer on the beachfront, while you reminisce.
STOP AT THE BLUE GROTTO: The entrance to the "Capri Blue Grotto" costs an extra €18 per person and tickets are purchase and paid directly at its entrance. The tour inside the "Blue Cave" lasts about 5 minutes. Nevertheless, the wait to enter the "Blue Grotto" can be very long: in peak hours in high season, it can last even more than one hour.
The magestic White Grotto, Grotta Bianca, is just one of the Island of Capri's truly spectacular features that we will get up close to.
The rock compositions of this coastal area have been worn, over time and the sea, into features such as a Natural Arch.
You will quickly recognise the Faraglioni rocks from many famous commercials and movies. Today they are often the backdrop to the impressive array of enormous, private yachts waiting for their owners.
The iridescent green of this beautiful Grotto is the result of the way the light enters.
