Stop 2

Ephesus, where you will walk by the Celsus Library, Temple of Hadrian, and the Trajan Fountain. Afterwards, stroll though the historical marble street and the Great Theater where St. Paul preached. Take time for photos of this culturally-rich area.

Stop 3

The Terrace Houses complex in Ephesus consists of luxurious residential villas, located on the northern slope of Bulbuldagi Hill, next to Curetes Street and opposite the Temple of Hadrian. So far, two housing complexes - Eastern and Western - have been excavated. They were built according to the Hippodamian plan where the roads transect each other at right angles. The excavation work of the Terrace Houses started in 1960. The restoration of the houses is an ongoing process and every year there is something new to admire there.

Temple of Artemis, also known as the Temple of Dina, as your final destination. Once your tour comes to an end, board the minibus and depart for your Kusadasi or Selcuk hotel.

This church was built over the tomb of St. John. The presently-visible church is cruciform and roofed with six massive domes, and was donated by Emperor Justinian and his wife Theodora. The capitals facing the nave (central aisle) bear their monograms. Persecution Gate forms the entrance to the walls of the Byzantine fortification and is decorated with reliefs depicting scenes of pursuit from the life of the Greek hero Achilleus. It probably dates to the sixth or seventh century A. D.

Proceed to the shrine of Mother Mary, where it is rumored she spend the later years of her life. in the afternoon, head to the carpet cooperative to observe how the Turkish carpets are made by hand.
