The castle of Kritinia (Kastello, for the locals) ,is a Venetian castle built in the 16th century on a hill about 131 meters above the village of Kritinia. It is fairly considered the germ of the village as it offers a breathtaking view of the Aegean Sea, the island of Chalki and some other deserted islands.

The wines are produced by collecting grapes from the vineyards, but the visitor can also find all the local wines from the small family factories of the village.
There are different kinds of wine: dry, semi-dry, semi-sweet, sweet, red, white and rosé.
All the wines are made in Embona.
Visitors can also taste the home made wines, like the Muscat, which is a sweet dessert wine combined perfectly with nuts and fresh fruits. In addition, there are many liqueurs made in Rhodes - ouzo with coffee, souma with honey, masticha and pomegranate.
At the bar, visitors can taste a great variety of local wines for free.
Next to the house is the distillery for souma.
Souma is a local colorless alcoholic beverage, produced from the distillation of grape marc, and everyone can taste it for free.
Olive oil is also produced and visitors can find honey from local producers.
In Profitis Ilias ithere is a small resort - a 1929 Italian hotel in the heart of the forest of pines, cedars and oaks trees which is an ideal stop for photos or coffee. The lodge was built in 1929 under the Italian occupation and was named Albergo del Cervo (Lodge of The Male Deer) due to the unique deer that inhabit the surrounding forests.
Near the village of Eleousa, in a bucolic setting in the woods, you can visit the monastery of Agios Nikolaos Fountoukli. Is a Byzantine church which was built in the 14th century.
