The St. Elisabeths Hospital is one of the most iconic buildings in Arnhem, and it was of great importance during the Battle of Arnhem. Although much fighting took place around the former hospital, the hospital itself was spared due to its function.

3

Just around the corner form the St. Elisabeth Hospital, you will find the Uruqhart House. This is the house where Major-General Urquhart took shelter. It's also a famous scene in the 'A Bridge Too Far' movie where the General is played by Sir Sean Connery.

4

The only old gate in the city that is left 'in tackt'. It was heavily damaged during the Battle of Arnhem but was rebuild after ww2. A true gem. Entrance to this Sable Gate is not possible, but it is definitely woth to explore the outside of the gate and take some photos.

You will just pass by this gate alonf the route. If you wish to explore it some more, please do so!
