Alberobello is a picturesque Apulian city in the Province of Bari, 70 km far from Matera. The astonishing “Trulli of Alberobello” were recognized UNESCO World Heritage of humanity in 1996 and awarded by the Italian Touring Club as the excellent accommodation solution and for its architectural harmony. Winding alleys and characteristic squares intertwine in the Rione Aia Piccola and the Rione Monti, where the "Siamese trulli", with their original two-cone roof, stand out. The Trullo "Sovrano" is the biggest trullo in Alberobello, and the only one that was built with two floors. It houses a reconstruction of a typical ancient house. The guide will explain how the citizen used to live in those particular houses.
