Detailed itinerary

1

Next, continue to the village of Imerovigli, an ideal spot for snapping more pictures. Your guide will lead the way into the heart of the town, explaining its architecture and showing you the beautiful blue-domed cathedral and hotels perched high on the caldera cliffs. Since Imerovigli is a preserved traditional settlement, the architectural style of the buildings remains unchanged. The buildings are mainly Cycladic and primarily local, Fira style. Today, Imerovigli is one of the most developed tourist destinations in Santorini, with first-class hotels, restaurants, and other shops visited by tens of thousands worldwide annually.

2

Oia is Santorini's most famous village. It is known worldwide for its unique sunset, when the sun sinks into the blue sea behind the volcano. The town is about 120 meters north of the caldera, extending from the west to the east coast of this narrow island.

3

A picturesque village where you can wander along paved paths and admire classic Greek buildings, churches with blue domes and bell towers. You will also have the opportunity to enter the underground caves of the 18th century and see the place where people lived in the past.
The sights of Megalochori are two impressive churches standing on the village's central square. The Church of the Introduction of the Blessed Virgin Mary with a wooden iconostasis and Byzantine icons of the Russian school and the church of Agia Anargiri celebrate July 1, a big holiday in the village. The village has been mentioned in written sources since the mid-17th century. It also appears on the map of 1801. The broader area's findings indicate that it has been inhabited since the early Cycladic and Late Cycladic periods.

Stop 4

After visiting Imerovigli, continue to the Prophet Ilias Monastery, situated on the top of Santorini's highest mountain. Enjoy the panoramic island and Aegean views. Mount Profitis Ilias is the island's highest point, less than five kilometres (3.1 miles) from the village of Pyrgos. Right at its summit stands a monastery of the same name. Dating back to 1711, the monastery of Profitis Ilias, one of the oldest on the island, is a stunning example of Cycladic architecture at its best.

5
Stop 5

Take a walking tour here before venturing to the famous black beach at Perissa-Perivolos, Monolithos, or Kamari Beach. Get time here to explore, and if you wish, enjoy an optional lunch (if time allows) at a local taverna (at your own expense). Since Santorini is not known for its beautiful beaches, Perissa Beach is a pleasant surprise. Perissa is a magnificent beach, covered with black volcanic sand, and it is perfect for sunbathing, swimming, and snorkeling. It is located on the southeastern coast of Santorini and extends at the base of the massive cape Mesa Vuno, sharply projecting into the sea. At the top of the mountain is the ancient city of Thira. Perissa is one of the island's most cosmopolitan beaches, stretching for miles. It merges with Perivolos Beach; together, it is a beach with a length of more than 7 kilometers: the water is obvious, a gentle descent into it and a beautiful color. The coarse black sand is pleasant to walk on and sparkles like sparkles.
