Annunciation Church sprung from the congregation at St. Vincent's, Houston's first Catholic church. In 1866, Father Joseph Querat and Galveston Bishop Claude M. Debuis believed the congregation was outgrowing the old building and started planning for a new one. The congregation chose the name for the planned building, "Church of the Annunciation." The original architect is unknown, but was dedicated on September 10, 1871. Nicholas Clayton altered the building, adding the bell tower twin towers in 1884.[2]

Daikin Park is a retractable roof stadium in Houston, Texas, United States. It opened in 2000 and is the home ballpark of the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball. The ballpark has a seating capacity of 41,168, which includes 5,197 club seats and 63 luxury suites, with a natural grass playing field.

"Fourteen artists and the Arts District worked tirelessly on this 800-foot-long collaborative mural. Each artist was granted 40 feet of wall space to create their pieces. Artists include Anat Ronen, Ani Varadaraju, Daniel Anguilu, el Edu, Eyesore, Jessica Rice, Jose Cordova, Luisa Duarte, Michael C. Rodriguez, Nicky Davis, Pilot FX, Scott Tarbox, Royal McGee and Vincent Fink. Art Alley is also home to a variety of events throughout the year, including the monthly Market at Sawyer Yards."

To commemorate Hermann Park’s centennial in 2014, Hermann Park Conservancy transformed the former Houston Garden Center site into the eight-acre McGovern Centennial Gardens. The Gardens were custom-made for Hermann Park and add a new dimension to Houston’s garden attractions. Visitors can explore a variety of themed garden rooms arranged situated along a spacious central lawn, the Centennial Green, and are home to more than 490 new trees of over 50 species, 760 hedge shrubs, 55,000 perennial bulbs, 650 azaleas and 4.5 acres of grass. They include the Arid Garden, the Rose Garden, the Celebration Garden, and the Woodland Garden, and an educational Family Garden, which produces seasonal vegetables, herbs and fruit trees. The main entry into the Gardens is through the Cherie Flores Garden Pavilion, which was designed by Peter Bohlin, architect of Apple stores worldwide.
