Yunokuni no Mori is a theme park village dedicated to Japanese handicrafts. Traditional-style houses spread out over a wide swath of forest. Masters of their respective craft teaches visitors to make their own pieces. The houses also display works made by local artisans.
The types of crafts available span many disciplines. Visitors can design Wajima lacquerware, adorn tableware with gold leaf, paint Kutani porcelain ware, or make their own Japanese paper. Other houses contain cooking experiences that include cookies, cakes, and soba. The on-site restaurant, galleries, and tea house bring the region’s distinct culture to Yunokuni no Mori guests. Art experiences can be arranged depending on availability on the day.

The natural rock formations at Natadera Temple have been revered as a sacred place for well over 2,000 years. The cliffs and caves were shaped by volcanic eruptions and eroded by ocean currents. They tower above the temple’s mossy forests, traditional-style gardens, and carp-filled ponds, earning Natadera a star in the Michelin Green Guide.
The 1.3km-long footpath along the banks of the river connects these bridges. The start point of the footpath is Korogi Bridge, the furthest upstream of the three bridges. Passing cedar groves, sparkling waterfalls and luminous clearings, the path offers splendid views at every season. You will find Kakusenkei Kawadoko along the way, a pop-up riverside cafe near Ayatori Bridge. Operating on clear days, this charming cafe with simple tatami seating and bright red parasols is the perfect place to stop by to relax.
