We would pay a visit to the Mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh Presidential Palace (outside), Ho Chi Minh's house-on-stilts and the One-Pillar Pagoda.
Next we'd head to the Temple of Literature - Vietnam's First National University, built in 1070. This is the place to worship Confucius and for the crown prince to study.
After lunch, we'd visit Hoa Lo prison (aka Hanoi Hilton). This place was built in 1896 by the French Colonists to suppress Vietnamese people. Later, from 1964 to 1973, this was also a place to arrest American pilots (as P.O.W) and they called it “Hanoi Hilton”.
Enjoy a coffee break and a walk through the beautiful and well-preserved French Quarter with several original French villas, now used as offices of Vietnam Government.
