About this experience

After breakfast around 10 am, we pick you up at the hotel in negombo. we leave for Chilaw, There is a saying that "Chilaw is famous for Crabs, Coconuts, We take you to famous Munneswaram temple, which is visited by both Hindus as well as Buddhists. We proceed to Puttalam, Puttalam is a small but very populous town. Famous for salt and fishing, Puttalam is the home to one of Sri Lanka’s largest lagoons, also called Puttalam lagoon. We visit the salt factory, you will be able to see the salt making procedure. After lunch, we will take you back to your hotel.

Puttalam is known for energy production, salt, coconut production and fishing. It has one of the largest lagoons in the country. Puttalam is popularly known for kind and hospitality people.Puttalam town is near to Anamaduwa which is the biggest city in Puttalam. The city has good road connections to/from Kalpitiya, Chilaw-Negombo-Colombo and Anuradhapura (along Wilpattu main entrance). Towards the north the B379 road runs, along the west entrance to Wilpattu.

Chilaw lies just a few kilometres south of Puttalam and is an admirable city where people of varying backgrounds, religions and ethnicity live together in peace and harmony. The beach is calm and tranquil allowing you to lay back in complete relaxation and swim at ease. Relating to the post Portuguese and Dutch colonial era, the town is famous for pearls and a large fishing community which specialize in crab and prawn farming and also the famous Munneswaram temple.Munneswaram temple is an important regional Hindu temple complex in Sri Lanka.
